Human-Computer Interaction

The University of Ghana Human-Computer Interaction research lab is interested in investigations that seek to understand how to better develop interactions for optimal user experience (UX). Specifically, we are interested in the requirements, design, development, and evaluation of interactions between humans and machines. We seek to create novel computing interactions and interfaces that provide better understanding, entertainment, protection, and support that are seamless to everyday human activities whilst maintaining privacy. Accordingly, our investigations are collaborative and interdisciplinary. We work closely with other groups within the Department of Computer Science and across the University of Ghana on areas such as Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence, Usable Security, HCI for Development, Technology for Behaviour Change, Interactive and Persuasive Spaces, among others. We also work closely with other world-leading Universities and many private and public sector organizations. Some members of our team are currently working with researchers of the Human-Technology Interaction Group of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) to investigate how to enhance systems’ credibility in persuasive technologies. Key Areas of Research Persuasive Systems Design, Behaviour Change Support Systems, Multimodal Interaction, Mobile HCI, HCI for Development (HCI4D), Interactive and Intelligent spaces, User Perceptions and System’s Credibility.
